Glacial Beauty

Why are the Finger Lakes so “gorges?” During the Pleistocene Ice Age over two million years ago, large glaciers moving south from Canada dramatically changed the landscape of the region. Deep trenches were carved into the earth, resulting in the lakes and spellbinding rock formations that are so characteristic of the area.

Watkins Glen State Park features a two-mile trail through vast and breathtaking gorges. This local treasure is truly a place of natural wonder with 19 waterfalls and gorgeous scenery that will be enjoyed by all.

A Taste of the Finger Lakes

The Finger Lakes region of New York is home to a unique and rich wine country, attracting visitors from all over the world to its renowned wineries. Seneca Lake is host to over thirty-five such wineries and thousands of acres of picturesque vineyards.

San Felice is favorably located at the heart of the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, with several wineries just minutes away.  Enjoy a day out wine tasting, and while you’re at it, bring a few bottles back for happy hour on the wraparound porch. Prefer hops over grapes? An exciting craft beer scene has grown in the area. Enjoy a cold brew overlooking scenic Seneca Lake.

Race and Speed at "The Glen"

Watkins Glen’s famous motor-racing history started in 1948 when it hosted the first post-World War II road race. Today, the Watkins Glen International Raceway, nicknamed “The Glen,” is located just 4 miles outside of town and has been named on several occasions "America's Best NASCAR Track" by readers of USA Today.

The Glen offers a full schedule of adrenaline-pumping racing action. Put pedal to the metal and experience the famed road course up close. Check out the “Drive the Glen!” program where you can drive the 3.45-mile Grand Prix circuit, open to visitors April through October.

Attend the annual Grand Prix Festival in September and watch as classic sports cars tour the original 6.6-mile circuit through the village streets of Watkins Glen. Enjoy live music, wine, food, vintage cars, and more at this family-friendly event!
